Organization Background
In January 1997, Rampart Group,Inc. dba The Embers Alzheimer's Day Care started operation to care for Alzheimer's and other dementia patients. In our work, we found a need to develop a new model for the care of Alzheimer's. With the assistance from a PhD. in geriatrics, an MSW did two research studies to develop a program to maintain one's functional capability as long as possible. They looked at the possibility of developing new pathways in the brain through mental, social, and physical stimulation.
In October 2005 Rampart Group, Inc absorbed Senior Care of Brevard, Inc.; we are now The Rampart Group dba as Senior Care of Brevard. We have increased our census from 25 to 52 clients and have been able to launch our Caregiver Outreach Program.
We continue in our development towards a new model for the long term care of those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Our goal is to work with the Caregiver and Care Recipient, to keep the family unit intact, thus avoiding nursing home placement.
